On the air

Listener Voices

Echos in the Ether is built by people who love the radio spectrum, so we want to hear from you. Record a short segment about the things we talk about here, send it in, and it could air on a future broadcast.

How it works

  • Length: 5 to 15 minutes works best, and shorter is fine too. Anything over 15 minutes needs a conversation with Chris first: contact him through the Logbook.
  • Contact info: a valid email address and phone number are required with every submission so Chris can reach you about your recording.
  • Topics: shortwave listening, ham radio, SDR, DX catches and QSL stories, propagation and space weather, antennas and homebrew, radio history, and strange signals. Spooky stories, ghosts, UFOs, cryptids and EVP (electronic voice phenomena) too: anything that goes bump in the night is welcome!
  • Sound: a quiet room and a phone held close works fine. No background music, please.
  • Keep it clean: no profanity, no advertising, nothing you do not have the rights to.
  • Editing: we may edit for length, clarity or content, and we may not be able to air every submission.
  • Privacy: Your contact information is only used to contact you about your submission. It’s saved with your upload but never shared or sold. IP address and technical details are logged for abuse prevention. Information is handled in compliance with applicable US federal and state law.

Accepted files: MP3, M4A, WAV, OGG/Opus, WebM or FLAC, up to 100 MB. Recordings over 15 minutes (up to 30) by prior arrangement with Chris only. A valid email address and phone number are required with every submission.
